Robert Streb Shoots -7 Final Round To Run Away With Mylan Classic

Ben Kohles, Matt Weibring

Going into the Final Round, Cliff Kresge had the lead but  Casey Wittenberg and Ben Kohles were the story as they were in contention and had an opportunity to get their automatic PGA Tour Card with this victory.   With some poor play in the middle of the round, and a Huge Round from Robert Streb, neither player could make enough of a move for the win.

Streb finished with a final round -7 under par, to pull away from the entire field.   The Greens were relatively slow this week, and the players struggled with them from Green to Green.

I was speaking with some Club Members, and I was told that they started watering them heavily during the middle of the summer in order to save them from the drought. Though I must say, the entire course looked lush and green.  And with the added rain from the storm last night, they were even slower on Sunday.

I watched player after player coming up short with their irons and their putters.   On the 8th hole, I watched about 8 groups come through there including the leaders, and the only players to really test the Pin were Chin and Weibring.   Matt Weibring played well and consistent all week, and John Chin also played well all week.   Chin finished at -11.    Here is the Link to the Final Leader Board.

All was not lost for Wittenberg and Kohles though, as they further secured their positions in the Top 25, which at the end of the season, will all get a tour card.   Here are the rankings after today’s results. (PGATOUR.com)
