Norman Joins The Field At Fox Chapel

It was announced that Greg Norman has joined the field to play in the Constellation Players Championship at Fox Chapel.     The event does not take place till late June, but the Players are already getting excited to play this course.

This will be the first time playing for most of the players in the tournament to Fox Chapel which means that fans and spectators will actually get to see these guys really play a little during their practice rounds leading up to Thursday.     Having to learn a course before you play is something these players just do not do that much of anymore.

A little history about the Golf Course.      The Club itself was started back in 1923, with the Golf Course.      It is a Classic Seth Raynor Design and I have heard more than a few of the Senior Champions gush about how traditional Seth Raynor courses are.     The Course is normally set up to play about 6700 yards, though I would imagine that if they can stretch it out a little they will.   The Golf Course itself is consistently ranked among the top 100 traditional style courses year in and year out.

The Club House is listed as a Historic Landmark, and was built in 1925.     It was designed by Alden and Harlow, who have their names associated with many Historic Buildings.

As the weeks get closer, I will have a final field break down on who will be playing and what the pairings will be.
